Long Island is rich with natural wonders: ocean shores, dense forests, tranquil ponds, winding rivers, and wide open spaces. I believe that nature is one of God's greatest gifts—a living painting, a sculpture, a masterpiece freely given to us. The Beaverkill Covered Bridge was built in 1865 by John Davidson. It is approximately 100 feet long and is a single span bridge. The bridge is a Town lattice truss. Ithiel Town of New Haven, Connecticut designed and patented the truss in 1820 and again in 1835.
