I grew up—and still live—on Long Island, a place that has always inspired my love for photography. Since my teenage years, I've been drawn to capturing the beauty around me. Long Island is rich with natural wonders: ocean shores, dense forests, tranquil ponds, winding rivers, and wide open spaces. I believe that nature is one of God's greatest gifts—a living painting, a sculpture, a masterpiece freely given to us. I’m constantly inspired by the beauty of His creation, and I hope to reflect that in my work. No matter where you go, nature offers a moment of awe: a blooming flower, a glowing sunset, a silent tree, or a fleeting glimpse of wildlife. While visiting the beach just before sunset I saw great egrets flying into the woods. I knew there was a pond there so I walked there and saw several egrets sitting in the trees. This pair captured my attention since they were the only 2 to be sitting together. There was very little sun shining through the trees so I was able to get the dark background.
